Mega City Slough | Case Study

Hospitality Technology Solutions

Mega City Logo

Mega City Slough is a large indoor entertainment venue on Slough High Street, covering around 55,000 square feet.

It offers a wide range of activities under one roof, including bowling, arcade games, laser tag, virtual reality, karaoke and sports simulators. With food and drink also available, it is designed as an all-in-one destination for families, groups of friends, parties and corporate events.

The Brief

TVC Technology Solutions was appointed to design and deliver a fully integrated audio-visual and entertainment system for Mega City Slough, connecting digital signage, hospitality television, AV distribution, zoned audio and seven dedicated karaoke rooms within one centrally managed technology environment.

Bringing together arcades, pool, virtual reality, AR darts, bowling, batting cages, clay shooting, laser quest and private karaoke experiences, Mega City required more than a collection of standalone screens and speakers.

The technology needed to support the customer journey throughout the venue, provide employees with straightforward day-to-day control and create an infrastructure capable of adapting as the Mega City concept continues to develop.

The Delivery

Iiyama Signage Screens

TVC installed 10 iiyama ProLite signage screens across Mega City, comprising seven 55-inch, two 43-inch and one 65-inch display.

Positioned around the bars and key customer areas, the commercial 4K screens provide dedicated space for food and drink promotions, attraction packages, event information and branded messaging.

Operating separately from the entertainment displays, content can be updated centrally without interrupting live television or activity-related content, helping Mega City respond quickly to campaigns and encourage additional spending in its busiest areas.

LG Hospitality TVs

A network of 14 LG hospitality TVs, including 11 55-inch and three 32-inch displays, supports live sport, entertainment and attraction information throughout Mega City.

Larger screens create strong communal viewing points across corridors, bars, seating areas and near the clay-shooting zone, while the 32-inch models provide closer-range content beside the batting cages.

The displays can be synchronised venue-wide or assigned different content by area, giving employees the flexibility to adapt the customer experience throughout the day.

WyreStorm Distribution Systems

Content for the hospitality screens is managed through a central WyreStorm NXT AV-over-IP system, incorporating an encoder, controller, 48-port network switch and receivers throughout the venue.

Live television and three other sources can be routed to individual screens or distributed across Mega City, while spare encoder inputs provide capacity for future sources. The platform also connects the four clay-shooting LED controllers through an HDBaseT splitter.

Following the final design review, the architecture was consolidated around one central switch, simplifying the rack and creating a scalable system that is easier to operate, service and expand.

B-Tech Wall Brackets

TVC used 24 B-Tech professional wall mounted brackets to secure and position the public display network.

Tilt brackets optimise sightlines across bars, seating areas and activity zones, while recessed pull-out mounts in the karaoke rooms provide straightforward access for servicing.

The result is a clean, consistent installation that protects Mega City’s screens and keeps the technology securely integrated within its high-footfall environment.

Singa Karaoke Rooms Solution

TVC created a consistent AV solution for Mega City’s seven private karaoke and party rooms.

Each room combines a Mitchell & Brown 55 Inch television, securely mounted iPad-based Singa interface, four wired microphones, a dedicated mixer, two Clever SVT100 loudspeakers, a Citronic CASA-28B subwoofer and four-channel amplification.

This entire package provides the ultimate karaoke room for Mega City, allowing guests to easily navigate the Singa software, whilst enjoying themselves.

The rooms also receive paging, background music and pre-recorded messages from the central AV system.

A key final change replaced the proposed wireless microphones with wired models, removing battery and pairing requirements, reducing interference between neighbouring rooms and providing a more reliable setup for back-to-back bookings.

Complete Audio Transformation

TVC delivered a fully zoned audio system tailored to Mega City’s arcades, pool area, bowling lanes, bars, social spaces and Laser Quest attraction.

Citronic CUBA-8 and CS-810B loudspeakers provide foreground audio across the principal customer areas, supported by CASA-12B and CASA-28B subwoofers in the busiest zones.

Adastra KV6T and C6S ceiling speakers create discreet, even coverage, with Clever SVT-100 speakers around Robokeeper and a Cloud ceiling subwoofer adding impact within Laser Quest. Central Citronic and Adastra amplification is managed through a Symetrix Prism processor, six local wall controllers and three Cloud paging stations.

This gives employees simple control over sources, volume and announcements while allowing each attraction to maintain an atmosphere suited to its purpose.

The Result

The completed solution brings Mega City’s customer-facing technology together within one coordinated ecosystem.

Dedicated iiyama signage screens give the venue a flexible promotional platform. LG hospitality TVs support live sport, attraction information and entertainment across customer areas.

WyreStorm distribution allows those sources to be managed centrally and routed wherever they are needed. B-Tech mounting provides a secure and consistent physical installation, while the seven karaoke rooms create an additional bookable experience with a reliable, standardised technical setup.

For the Mega City team, this means less time spent managing individual pieces of equipment and greater freedom to adapt the venue throughout the trading day. A major sporting event can be shown throughout the building, different content can be assigned to different floors, and promotional messaging can continue independently across the signage network.

The reserved WyreStorm inputs, network-based architecture and central rack also give Mega City a foundation for future expansion. Additional sources, displays and entertainment concepts can be introduced without redesigning the entire system.

By treating displays, distribution, digital signage, audio, paging, control and karaoke as one complete project, TVC Technology Solutions has created a technology environment that supports both sides of the Mega City experience: immersive entertainment for customers and straightforward operation for employees.
