Amber Taverns, one of the largest independent pub companies in the North West, North East, Scotland, and Wales, boasts over 160 outlets.
They provide customers with an excellent selection of drinks and ensure their pubs are equipped with the latest audio-visual technology, including comprehensive BT and Sky Sports packages.
The Iron Ram, one of the newest additions to the Amber Taverns portfolio, opened its doors in June 2024 after a significant renovation that featured a complete AV upgrade.
Following recent collaborations, including our notable AV renovation of Amber Taverns North Star
site in North Shields, we were tasked with completely refurbishing their new Derby location, the Iron Ram, with the latest cutting-edge AV technology.
For this new site, we were assigned the task of delivering a fully immersive AV package. This included Samsung 4K LED Hospitality TVs, Audac’s latest passive loudspeakers, industry leading Optimal Audio audio zone controlling software and advanced Wyrestorm Signal Distribution systems, replicating the setup found in their other exceptional public houses.
Furthermore, in collaboration with Singa, a comprehensive karaoke platform that offers an extensive library of songs for both personal and professional use, Amber Taverns aimed to introduce two luxury karaoke booths on the first floor, elevating the Iron Ram into an unmissable entertainment venue.
Additionally, we were tasked with implementing a comprehensive CCTV package covering the entire Iron Ram premises.
Samsung 4K LED Hospitality TV
Upon entering the Iron Ram, guests are welcomed by a multitude of Samsung 4K LED Hospitality TVs strategically placed throughout the venue. A total of 16 TVs, ranging in size from 50” to 75”, have been carefully selected for their suitability in hospitality environments like the Iron Ram.
The TVs are designed for extended use without overheating, ensuring patrons can enjoy live action from the Iron Ram’s TNT Sports and Sky packages in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, while savouring their favourite drinks.
Another standout feature is their smooth motion handling, which effectively eliminates concerns about motion blur. This capability reassures the landlords of the Iron Ram when displaying their wide array of sports offerings to customers.
All of these models have been securely mounted using Peerless flat wall brackets. A notable feature of Peerless brackets is their ability to adjust the TV both horizontally and vertically, allowing for post-installation levelling and side-to-side positioning. Additionally, their low-profile design offers a streamlined, aesthetically pleasing appearance that can complement any décor.
Interactive Darts Area
A captivating new addition to the Iron Ram is their state-of-the-art interactive darts area on the ground floor. By installing this new entertainment feature, we've created another engaging activity for customers to enjoy while soaking in the immersive atmosphere around the oches.
Karaoke Booths with Singa Karaoke Software
Heading upstairs, the Iron Ram features two purpose-built karaoke booths equipped with state-of-the-art AV technology.
Each booth includes a 55” Samsung Hospitality 4K LED TV and a pair of Audac X6 80W loudspeakers, enhancing the karaoke experience as customers sing their favourite songs.
Additionally, integrated with Singa Karaoke’s leading software, we've provided a tablet for easy song selection by customers.
Wyrestorm Signal Distribution
With Wyrestorm’s versatile Network HD series, we have successfully implemented an advanced MultiView display solution across the Iron Ram’s TV lineup. Utilising the latest in display technology, the Iron Ram can now simultaneously showcase multiple live sporting events on their screens, even if they are on different channels.
This is particularly advantageous during the final group stage matches of competitive tournaments such as the ongoing UEFA European Championships or simultaneous events happening at this year’s 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Additionally, provided that multiple sources are set up, Wyrestorm’s MultiView decoder can deliver an ultra-low bandwidth AV over IP solution, allowing up to nine simultaneous video feeds on a single 4K display in various areas of the pub. This feature is particularly beneficial for any venue aiming to offer diverse entertainment options throughout the day to attract a broader audience.
Accessibility and ergonomic efficiency are vital for staff when utilising Wyrestorm’s MultiView technology. To facilitate this, we have equipped the Iron Ram with Wyrestorm’s award-winning Touch App on an iPad. This enables staff to effortlessly switch live video sources and display previews with instant drag-and-drop content selection.
Audac Passive Loudspeakers
Throughout the entirety of the Iron Ram, a comprehensive array of Audac passive loudspeakers ensures premium sound quality. This lineup includes models ranging from the compact 8” VEXO8 to the powerful 15” BASO15 subwoofer, designed to enhance the venue's vibrant atmosphere.
The VEXO8 loudspeaker stands out for its compact yet high-powered design, seamlessly blending into any setting from lively entertainment venues like the Iron Ram to quieter local pubs. It delivers rich and detailed sound, allowing customers to enjoy the atmosphere with ease.
For peak times and lively environments, such as those at the Iron Ram, the Audac 15” BASO15 subwoofer ensures exceptional sound quality throughout the venue. Crafted from high-quality plywood, its elegant design integrates effortlessly into any environment.
Ensuring durability and longevity, Audac loudspeakers feature impact-resistant die-cast frames that protect internal components from dust and external elements. This reliability is crucial for maintaining consistent performance in high-traffic areas like the Iron Ram.
To manage audio levels seamlessly across the venue, Optimal Audio’s Wall Control System simplifies operations. Staff can control each of the eight zones individually using intuitive software, optimizing the customer experience throughout different areas. This flexibility is particularly important at the Iron Ram, where audio levels can be adjusted lower in entranceways while maintaining livelier settings on the second floor, including the two karaoke booths.
