"TVC installs Philips video wall"

The Dragonfly Pub | Case Study

Restaurants & Bars

The Dragonfly pub located in Peterborough had received a huge makeover, including the installation of a four-panel Philips video wall made up of 55” high-spec backlit panels. The changes to the pub included complete internal refurbishment as well as major AV upgrades.

The Dragonfly wanted to create a completely new experience for their customers, providing a quality social environment to bring the community together to enjoy sport and bar games.

The challenge was to ensure that high-quality sound remained consistent throughout the bar, to match the quality screens and video wall specified.

The Brief

The Dragonfly approached TVC to bring their vision to life. Working collaboratively, our TVC engineers were able to identify optimum points in the pub to make sure that spaces were utilised effectively so that every customer could have a view of a screen during busy events.

The Delivery

Our expert engineers installed four 55" Philips LED backlit videowall display from the iconic X-Line with a full HD picture in the main bar area to become a flagship sports pub in the area.

Two 65” Mitchell & Brown 4K LED TV in both the pool and lounge areas to ensure optimal viewing from all angles in the pub. Whilst wanting to continue to attract customers during live sporting events, the Dragonfly wanted to bring a real community feel to the pub, attracting families. To attract these new customers, our engineers installed 28” Samsung TVs into each seating booth to create a more family orientated dining experience.

To provide the best sports experience, our sound engineers also installed a total of 14 6” 100v speakers around the venue to create optimal acoustics.

Operations Director, Ed Passey, commented: “We are extremely pleased with the refurbishment at the Dragonfly. We have created a pub which will attract more families and females alongside our regular customers and sports teams”.

Lead AV Engineer on the job, Wayne Tookey, added: “This was a great project to work on with some unique challenges. The strategic location on all the screens, speakers and the control system installed, really does provide the capabilities to offer something for everyone. We’re sure that the Dragonfly will continue to attract customers who love sport with the stunning Philips video wall, and welcome new customers too, including families and the wider community.”
