Bolton Wanderers Football Club (BWFC), a founder member of the football league in Greater Manchester, began a new era in the club’s history as new owners took control in 2019. BWFC not only showcase their #MadeInBolton community spirit on the pitch with the hiring of their Bolton born coaching staff, but they’re also focused on working with Bolton-based companies to bring their fans the ultimate match-day experience.
With dated and uninspired menu boards around the stadium food kiosks, the team managing the catering at The University of Bolton Stadium wanted to bring the hospitality into the 21st century with a variety of digital signage and adaptive screens.
Moving to a digital signage solution allows the Bolton Whites Hotel to change their kiosk offering more regularly, and more cost effectively without having to rip out their old static boards.
With a long-established relationship with TVC Technology Solutions, Bolton Wanderers stuck with their #MadeInBolton mentality, and after an initial meeting, the catering managers at the Bolton Whites Hotel specified TVC for the supply and installation of various digital menu screens around the stadium.
Digital Menu Boards for Matchdays at Bolton Wanderers
Digital screen experts, TVC installed a total of 30 screens around the stadium, some of which provided the unique challenge of slanted walls above kiosk stands. Installation engineers used professional mounting solutions from B-tech AV Mounts and Peerless AV to ensure optimal angles for viewing, as the screens can be used for a variety of media as well as digital menu boards.
TVC implemented MySign technology to the digital menu boards, allowing the Bolton Whites Hotel to make any quick price and menu changes using their own custom templates to look professional and provide a unique matchday experience.
Head of Commercial Sales at TVC, Andrew Greaves, added: “We have a long-standing relationship with Bolton Wanderers Football Club, and with the TVC head office being in Bolton, we have many fans of the club in the business. This project was certainly close to our heart and the team were proud to have been involved, especially with the community spirit of #MadeInBolton being a prominent message within the club.”
Various Mitchell & Brown screens were used on this project, including the 4K Ultra HD 55” screens for the larger kiosk stands within the stadium and the Full HD 43” screens for the smaller matchday hospitality kiosks.
The digital signage solution was provided by the intuitive MySign system, allowing BWFC to fully customise their menu boards and make quick and simple changes when required.
