Cooper & Co.

Amber Taverns is a UK pub operator focused on welcoming community pubs, combining good-value drinks, comfortable surroundings and live sport. The business invests in its venues and works with local operators to create places where customers can socialise and enjoy entertainment.

At Cooper & Co in Salisbury, Amber Taverns brings this approach to 40 Blue Boar Row. A main bar, dedicated karaoke room and outdoor area offer customers different ways to spend time together, reflecting the company’s emphasis on community and choice.

The Brief

TVC Technology Solutions was appointed to deliver an integrated audio-visual installation for Cooper & Co, supporting Amber Taverns’ plans for a pub centred on sport and entertainment.

The brief combined televisions, projection, signage, audio and lighting across the venue. Clear viewing positions, flexible content distribution and straightforward controls would help employees manage different activities while maintaining a comfortable, engaging customer experience.

The Delivery

Samsung Hospitality TVs

The installation features ten Samsung 4K hospitality televisions: two 75-inch, seven 65-inch and one 55-inch model, with two of the screens located in the karaoke room. Designed for extended daily operation, they support viewing throughout trading hours and come with a three-year warranty.

For Amber Taverns, multiple screens make more seating useful on matchdays. Customers can follow the action from different positions, with clear pictures and greater choice over where to sit with their group.

Wyrestorm Distribution

A WyreStorm AV-over-IP system connects eleven televisions and the projector through an eight-input encoder, central controller, network switch and twelve decoders. Sources include three Sky Q receivers, Atmosphere TV, Startle Digital Signage, karaoke, a local HDMI input and the darts camera.

Centralised control lets employees share content across the venue or select different fixtures for individual areas. This simplifies operation during busy service and allows Amber Taverns to accommodate customers with different interests alongside karaoke and other entertainment.

Digital Signage Displays

Three 50-inch 4K signage displays, mounted in portrait orientation, showcase offers and events throughout the pub. A 49-inch double-sided window display extends this messaging to customers inside and passers-by, with brightness levels of 3,500 nits on the outward-facing screen and 1,000 nits on the inward-facing screen. Startle players, supplied by Amber Taverns and installed by TVC, deliver the content, with both sides of the window display showing the same messaging.

Amber Taverns can refresh promotions without replacing printed posters, while customers can discover drinks offers, upcoming fixtures and karaoke. The window display also introduces the venue to passing pedestrians.

outvue Outdoor Screen

A 75-inch Outvue outdoor television brings live sport to the pub’s outdoor space. Its 3,000-nit brightness ensures clear daylight viewing, while IP66 weather protection and an IK10 impact rating provide durability for outdoor use. Live sports coverage is delivered through the WyreStorm AV distribution system, with audio provided by the television’s built-in speakers.

This helps Amber Taverns make better use of its external space on matchdays. Customers choosing to sit outdoors can continue following the action and remain part of the occasion.

Audac Loudspeakers

Twelve Audac VEXO108 loudspeakers cover the front, bar, rear and karaoke areas, with two 12-inch subwoofers adding depth in the bar and rear. An SMA500 and two SMQ500 amplifiers provide power and digital signal processing.

The system supports background music, commentary and karaoke, giving Amber Taverns flexibility across different trading occasions. Distributed speakers help customers hear clearly around the seating areas, while the subwoofers provide greater musical impact for evening entertainment.

B-Tech Wall Mounts

Bespoke B-Tech mounting solutions support the three 50-inch portrait displays, while a floor-to-ceiling system secures the double-sided window screen. A pull-out and tilt bracket conceals the karaoke microphone receiver behind a television while retaining maintenance access. A separate bracket supports the projector.

These arrangements help Amber Taverns use the available space effectively and simplify servicing. Customers benefit from clearly positioned displays and a tidy installation with less visible supporting equipment.

LED Lighting

RGBW COB LED tape highlights the bar and karaoke room, with four-zone control and dedicated dartboard illumination. Eight effect lights, a motorised 40cm mirror ball, two LED pinspots and Amber Taverns-supplied neon signage complete the lighting scheme.

Adjustable colours and separate zones allow the operator to adapt the atmosphere for daytime trading or evening entertainment. Customers experience distinct spaces, with lighting adding energy to karaoke and helping make group visits feel like an occasion.

Singa Karaoke

Singa Karaoke software, supplied and installed by Amber Taverns, combines with hardware integrated and commissioned by TVC. A wall-mounted 13-inch iPad Pro, two 65-inch Samsung displays, a W Audio quad wireless microphone system and Audac loudspeakers support the dedicated room.

Karaoke gives Amber Taverns another attraction for group nights out and celebrations. Customers can follow lyrics from different positions, move freely with wireless microphones and enjoy a shared activity enhanced by dedicated sound and lighting.

Peerless Wall Mounts

Peerless flat wall brackets secure nine Samsung hospitality televisions, with brackets selected to suit each screen size and viewing position.

Wall mounting preserves floor space for seating and service, helping Amber Taverns accommodate its sports offer without freestanding equipment. Customers can follow the action from surrounding tables while moving comfortably between the bar and entertainment areas. The consistent mounting approach also gives the screens a neat presentation throughout the pub.

Optimal Audio Zone Control Systems

An Optimal Audio Zone 4 mixer and controller provide independent audio control across the front, bar, rear and karaoke areas, working with the Audac amplification.

Employees can select sources and adjust levels as activities and occupancy change. Amber Taverns can prioritise commentary in one area while maintaining music elsewhere. Customers benefit from sound appropriate to their chosen space, balancing the energy of sports and karaoke with areas where conversation remains comfortable.

Additional Extras

An Optoma 4,500-lumen Full HD laser projector and 122-inch Sapphire electric screen create a larger viewing option for major fixtures. A Hikvision 4MP darts camera and decoder share play on connected displays, while microphone and HDMI inputs support announcements and external entertainment.

Satellite and terrestrial aerial infrastructure, RF distribution, cabling, commissioning and employee handover training complete the installation.

The Result

Cooper & Co now has an integrated platform for live sport, promotions and social entertainment, extending from the main bar to the outdoor area.

Flexible video distribution, zoned audio and adaptable lighting give employees practical control, while clear viewing options and dedicated karaoke support Amber Taverns’ aim of creating a welcoming pub with varied reasons to visit.
