Genting Casino Manchester

Genting UK is one of the country’s leading leisure and entertainment companies and forms part of the global Genting Group.

They offer customers the very best in gaming and entertainment, from casino games – including roulette, blackjack and slots – to welcoming bars and restaurants.

Whether you are a regular player or visiting for the first time, Genting Casinos provide a modern and inviting environment where gaming, hospitality and social experiences come together.

Located on Portland Street in the heart of the city centre, Genting Casino Manchester brings together casino gaming, live sport, karaoke, bar and dining experiences within one entertainment destination.

The Brief

As part of an extensive technology upgrade, following our successful project for Genting Casino Birmingham, Genting Casino appointed TVC Technology Solutions to modernise and expand the display estate across their Manchester venue.

They required an updated visual experience extending from its prominent Portland Street entrance through to the reception, gaming floor, bar, mezzanine, Mahjong area and meeting room.

At the entrance, the existing pixel wall was to be replaced with a larger curved LED display that would follow the surrounding architecture and create an attention-grabbing welcome for customers. Throughout the venue, new professional displays were needed to improve picture quality, increase screen visibility and accommodate a mixture of live television, sport, digital signage and promotional content.

The project also needed to make intelligent use of the casino’s existing equipment. Compatible screens, brackets and WyreStorm receivers were to be retained or relocated where appropriate, while the expanded display estate needed to integrate with the existing AV infrastructure.

The Delivery

Curved LED Wall Display

At the centre of the entrance transformation is a bespoke curved LED wall measuring 4.5 metres wide by 2.5 metres high. Covering 11.25m², the display follows the shape of the entrance wall to create a distinctive digital feature that feels naturally integrated into the surrounding interior.

A 3.9mm pixel pitch delivers clear and detailed content across the large canvas, while its anti-vandal, IP-rated construction provides additional protection for this prominent public-facing position. The display is supported by a purpose-built framework engineered around the dimensions and curvature of the installation area.

Content is processed through a NovaStar VX400 controller, providing the scaling and processing required to manage the complete LED canvas. Dedicated data connections route the system back to the main equipment rack, creating a reliable link between the display and the wider Genting Casino Manchester content infrastructure.

The entrance treatment was further complemented by warm-white architectural LED lighting. IP-rated LED tape was incorporated around the canopy fins, entrance ceiling, rear display area and window surrounds, helping to frame the curved screen and strengthen the visual impact of the renovated entrance.

Peerless LED Wall Bracket System

TVC worked closely with Peerless-AV to supply a customised SEAMLESS Connect wall bracket structure specifically configured for the curved LED pixel wall at Genting Casino Manchester. The mounting system was tailored around the dimensions, cabinet layout and curvature of the 4.5m by 2.5m display.

Once supplied, the structure was installed on site by TVC’s engineers. Its modular aluminium framework provided a strong and reliable foundation, while adjustable X, Y and Z axes enabled each LED cabinet to be positioned with precision. Quick-connect clamps and micro-adjustment helped minimise visible gaps between cabinets, creating a secure, accurately aligned and professionally integrated LED canvas.

iiyama Large Format Screens

TVC installed 12 new iiyama professional large format ProLite screens throughout Genting Casino Manchester, ranging from the 43-inch to 98-inch.

Every display delivers 4K Ultra HD resolution and reliable 24/7 commercial operation. Brightness levels of 500cd/m² or 800cd/m² were selected for each location, keeping content clear and vibrant in varying lighting conditions.

At the entrance, a 98-inch display replaced three smaller screens, creating a cleaner feature wall and a larger canvas for promotional content. Two 55-inch portrait screens near reception provide clear digital signage and customer communications at a key point in the visitor journey.

Across the casino, a 75-inch screen above the fire exit maximises an elevated sightline, while an 86-inch display enhances the Mahjong area. Two 75-inch screens modernise the bar’s brick feature wall, a 43-inch portrait display transforms an upstairs pillar into a useful signage point, and a 65-inch screen fits neatly within the mezzanine lightbox.

The Genting Casino Manchester meeting room received a separate 98-inch centre display alongside two 50-inch screens, providing a substantial visual platform for meetings, presentations and collaborative content.

Existing equipment was reused wherever it remained suitable. Two screens and their NetworkHD receivers were moved from reception to the cash desk, while compatible brackets and other receivers were retained at several display positions. As the wider refurbishment developed, TVC also removed and reinstated six additional internal screens, coordinating this supplementary work with the main installation programme.

WyreStorm Distribution Systems

WyreStorm technology connects the expanded Genting Casino Manchester display estate with the venue’s existing AV infrastructure.

NetworkHD decoders were introduced at new screen positions, allowing 4K content to be received over the venue’s IP network. Existing NetworkHD receivers were also reused and relocated where practical, extending the system without unnecessarily replacing functional equipment.

This IP-based approach provides a flexible platform for distributing live broadcasts, sport, digital signage and promotional content from the central equipment rack to displays throughout the casino. It also gives the venue a scalable foundation that can accommodate additional sources or screen positions as future requirements develop.

Three WyreStorm extender sets provide dedicated 4K signal links to the portrait displays over Cat6 cabling. Combined with the NetworkHD platform, these point-to-point connections ensure each screen receives the most appropriate and reliable form of signal distribution for its location.

The Result

The completed installation provides Genting Casino Manchester with a cohesive visual experience extending from the Portland Street entrance to the gaming floor, bar, Mahjong area, mezzanine and meeting spaces.

The bespoke curved LED wall creates an immediate focal point, while the network of iiyama 4K commercial displays improves content visibility across the venue. WyreStorm distribution provides the flexibility required to route live sport, entertainment, signage and promotional material to the appropriate screens.

By combining new technology with the careful relocation and reuse of existing equipment, TVC delivered a visually impressive and practical display solution that enhances the Genting Casino Manchester customer experience while providing room for future expansion.
