Assembly Rooms | Case Study

Corporate Technology Solutions

Part of the Project Six Pillars group of companies and based out of Bolton, Greater Manchester, The Assembly Rooms are a collection of offices utilised by several local businesses as well as made available for growing businesses looking for spaces to host meetings, small events, conferences and more.

The Brief

Starting out life as the Baths of Bolton in 1846, TVC were tasked with helping to transform the unused and run-down property into a place for local businesses to thrive.

The Assembly Rooms project wanted to offer a range of flexible working spaces, conference rooms and other state-of-the-art facilities right in the heart of Bolton.

The new state-of-the-art facilities were to including a range of TVs, Video Conferencing solutions and a bespoke Assembly Rooms TV channel, allowing global messaging through the venue. The system would also need to be simple and intuitive, ensuring a seamless user experience for both Assembly Room clients and staff. Meaning, all you would have to do is plug in and go!

The Delivery

TVC supplied and installed a total of 19 TVs, 49” & 55” screens from Mitchell & Brown’s 4K Ultra HD TV range to 82” & 86” LG large format display screens. The smaller screens were secured using universal flat screen wall mounts from B-Tech, designed with a low-profile, they are ideal for a close to the wall installation. The larger screens, situated in the interactive presentation / lecture hall, were mounted using an articulating wall mount from Peerless-AV. One of the thinnest wall arm mounts on the market, it is robust enough to hold larger displays firmly in any position – landscape or portrait – while still offering an ultra-low profile.

The TVs were installed in the boardroom, various meeting rooms, and huddle spaces, but also within the cafeteria/food hall which is also available for hire at Assembly Rooms. To maintain a consistent message across all screens when the spaces/rooms are not in use, we provided a bespoke Aerial installation, essentially giving Assembly Rooms their own TV channel, which allowed global messaging across all screens at once.

For the conferencing solution, we opted for the Poly Studio premium USB video bar. The premium USB video bar delivers the best audio quality in its class and blocks distracting sounds that can interrupt meetings. Teams on both ends of the call catch every word and with automatic speaker tracking, the connection feels personal. The Simple USB connectivity allows for stress-free setup and Poly works seamlessly with whichever cloud video service you choose.

To complete the technology overhaul, we added 2x Samsung Flip 65” interactive displays. The perfect solution for the interactive presentation / lecture hall, the Samsung Flip is an intuitive and easy-to-use digital flipchart for multiple meeting environments. The 65-inch model provides a larger screen which we mounted on Peerless-AV’s Mobile Cart with Rotational Interface; with 4" casters it makes it easier to move from room-to-room if required.

A great feature of the Samsung Flip is effortless and easy sharing of post meeting/lecture information. Following any meeting, users can distribute recaps to all attendees and colleagues, removing the frustration traditionally associated with handwritten meeting notes. Important conversations and content are stored within the Flip in real-time, easily shareable across mobile and digital channels
