A Hampshire pub has reopened following a £190,000 investment transforming it “inside and out”. The Lion on Bedford Place, Southampton has been given a new lease of life, with a warm and welcoming feel inside and upgrades to the bar area, seating, and audio-visual offering.
To begin with we installed 2 x 55” and 1 x 32” Samsung Hospitality LED TVs surrounding the main bar area, with the smaller of the screens being mounted behind the bar. Displayed in a prominent position, the 32” TV is ideal for informing customers of current drinks offers and upcoming events.
Powered by an intuitive digital signage player with MySign digital signage software and templates, it offers an array of easy-to-use digital signage templates to choose from, meaning staff at The Lion can now update the content quickly and easily at pub level.
For those looking to take part in some sporting action themselves, a new pool table and illuminated dartboard have also been added in the recently improved gaming area. To compliment the activities on offer here we added another Samsung Hospitality LED TV screen but opted for a larger 65” version, mounted flush to the wall but still allowing easy access for maintenance.
The rear lounge area benefitted from 2 additional 55” screens and also the outdoor area received it’s very own upgrade in the form of a impressive Outdoor TV, creating the perfect outdoor view area for live sport.
To ensure the Outdoor TV screen is protected from wind, rain, or any other adverse weather condition, it was secured with a bespoke TVC Outdoor Enclosure. This Perspex Outdoor TV Enclosure provides an airtight TV shield that will give staff peace of mind that the Outdoor TV will not be damaged even on the busiest of evenings!
There is a jam-packed entertainment schedule at The Lion, from quiz nights and poker nights to live music and DJs. To help create the perfect atmosphere for any of these events, we supplied and installed a range of professional audio speakers throughout the venue, 6” Cloud speakers to the Games Zone and Rear Lounge with the Main bar area receiving 4x Audac 8” 175W Loudspeakers and Audac 12” subwoofer where stronger volume was required. Finally, a single unit lighting effect was used to create the perfect party night.
Operator Kim said: “We’ve got a fantastic offering of entertainment on offer here. Between our events throughout the week to our weekend music and live sport there really is something for everyone. I also cannot wait to work with the community in supporting local events and causes in the coming weeks and months.”
With the latest in audio-visual technology, this community pub is the place to catch all the sporting action on BT Sport and Sky across several TV screens around the pub.
