The Brackens pub in Alvaston has reopened its doors following a £223,000 investment by new owners at the Craft Union Pub Company. The full refurbishment throughout has given the venue a new lease of life, with a new look interior and refreshed paintwork on the exterior of the property. With great viewing facilities throughout the pub, there’s no better place in the Derby area to catch all the best sporting action live with friends and family with BT Sport and Sky Sports being shown daily as well as Racing UK. TVC installed a variety of AV equipment to ensure guests will not be disappointed. Elsewhere, entertainment comes from the pub’s two new illuminated dartboards, a pool table and gaming machines providing everything you need for a little healthy competition between guests.
In the Main Bar area, TVC Engineers mounted 2 x 65” Samsung Hospitality 4K LED TVs, 1 x 55” Samsung Hospitality LED TV and 1 x 43” Samsung Hospitality LED TV behind and around the bar on Peerless flat TV brackets. We chose Hospitality TVs rather than Domestic TVs due to them being manufactured for use in Hospitality environments where they will run for longer periods. 2 x single unit lighting effects were also included to accompany the TV screens and Loudspeakers that were reused in this area.
The 43” Samsung Hospitality LED TV was installed at a high visibility point behind the bar and occasionally will be used to display current drinks offers and Craft Union marketing materials to customers queuing to buy drinks. We opted for a digital signage player with MySign digital signage software which offers users several customisable templates to choose from. Staff will be trained to use the digital signage software and will be able to edit and change the content on screen when desired at pub level.
In the Rear Sports Bar, 4 x 55” videowall panels were reused and mounted in a square format creating an impressive 9-foot videowall for customers to watch live sport while having a competition of their own. An additional 2 x 55” Samsung Hospitality LED TVs and 1 x 43” Samsung Hospitality LED TV were included in this area. To accompany the TV screen offering, 4 x Audac 8” 175W Loudspeakers were fitted on swivel brackets. Swivel brackets allow the Loudspeakers to be positioned facing bigger groups when stronger audio is needed.
New Management Nick Garbutt said: “I’m so pleased with how the refurbishment has turned out and I’m so glad to welcome back our guests. This is such a friendly and welcoming pub and now the updated décor and furniture reflect the warm feeling. Being at the centre of our community is so important and I’m sure the locals are going to love our new look.”
