Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC) is the charitable arm of Bolton Wanderers Football Club. Their mission is to use the power of Bolton Wanderers Football Club to inspire, support and deliver positive change.
Through intervention, prevention and targeted engagement they create sustainable pathways that transform lives.
By working together they connect people, enabling communities to thrive and succeed.
After recent projects with Bolton Stadium Hotel and Bolton Wanderers, Bolton Wanderers in the Community approached TVC to enhance the complete AV setup at their newly established Wellbeing Hub.
These upgrades were requested to improve the overall experience for guests, employees and participants when hosting events such as staff training and community events. Additionally, a new video conferencing solution was required to support community members with disabilities in connecting with relevant groups and beyond when in-person attendance is not possible.
Mitchell & Brown TV Screens
Evenly located around the Wellbeing Hub, we supplied and installed two JB-55BL1811 55” Mitchell & Brown QLED 4K Ultra HD Linux Smart TVs and two JB-65QLED1811 65” Mitchell & Brown QLED 4K Ultra HD Linux Smart TVs.
These screens were a great fit for the Wellbeing Hub’s internal décor, with their ultra slim, near borderless design complementing the bespoke graphics on show around their hub.
Showing a 4K Ultra HD resolution on all these screens, this Mitchell & Brown range offers more detailed and sharper images for all the wide-ranging visitors to the Wellbeing Hub. This is a particularly key feature for the Community’s activities, who need clear and concise information displaying for key details at sessions such as the Sporting Memories session.
Further to this, with the additional benefit of three HDMI and two USB sockets equipped to this range of TVs, alongside the exceptional picture quality, they perfectly suit the needs on matchdays for providing kids entertainment via gaming consoles, live sport viewing and more.
Wall Brackets
Peerless AV Flat Wall Mounts
When installing both screens in the welcome area and video conferencing space, due to their location, we secured both TVs to the wall with Peerless AV’s SmartMount Universal Flat Wall Mounts.
These versatile TV brackets offer horizontal and vertical adjustment abilities which allows the Community employees to position the screen in the perfect place post-installation with ease.
With the open wall plate design from this Peerless AV bracket, it offers complete wall access for easy electrical and cable management – perfect for employees looking to quickly connect a device to the screen via HDMI.
B-Tech Flat Screen Wall Mounts
To safely secure both Mitchell & Brown 55” screens onto the wall in the gaming area of the Wellbeing Hub, we provided and installed two B-Tech Universal Flat Screen Wall Mounts.
Suitable for a plethora of surfaces, this particular mounting apparatus features a ‘hook-on’ installation and post-installation screen alignment to make screen mounting as quick and simple as possible.
Featuring a premium security locking bar that prevents any unauthorised screen removals, which is perfect for Bolton Wanderers in the Community peace of mind during busy matchdays.
Sonos Smart Speakers
To amplify the audio output for the entire Wellbeing Hub, we strategically provided and placed four Sonos Era 100 Smart Speakers around the entire area for maximum coverage.
Using the white colourway of these loudspeakers, they effortlessly complimented the internal décor Bolton Wanderers in the Community have without taking away from their impressive design work.
Within the stylish structures houses three Class-D digital amplifiers and two angled tweeters to create a crisp, clear high frequency response. Combined with a mid-woofer to ensure optimal vocal frequencies, these Sonos loudspeakers fitted the initial brief set out by Bolton Wanderers in the Community.
Using Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity and use of the Sonos app, members of the BWitC workforce can connect their devices to the surrounding speakers with exceptional ease and project their relevant audio out through the communal space.
MySign Digital Signage Solutions
The Community required a digital signage solution to effectively display upcoming events, wayfinding messages, and more across each screen within their communal spaces. To address this need, we provided MySign’s user-friendly digital signage software and a commercial-grade media player.
MySign enables the display of multiple types of information simultaneously. Whether promoting community events, such as Carers Coffee Mornings or holiday Soccer Schools, MySign’s software presents information clearly and concisely.
Moreover, the cloud-based software allows team members to easily schedule, edit, and update content, making it ideal for pre- and post-match gatherings in the hub, where Community staff can seamlessly display relevant visual information.
Polycom Studio USB Video Bar
Situated in the quieter area of the hub, we have supplied and fitted a Polycom Studio USB Video Bar.
Ideal for the smaller area of the space, this video bar has plug-and-play USB connectivity, allowing for easy interaction between user’s devices and the 65” Mitchell & Brown screen via CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) that allows for Community staff to immediately display the main channel (in this case the HDMI output) without the need for user interaction.
Further to this, with the automatic group farming and speaker tracking, it allows for large group meetings between Community employees or session participants to flow smoothly with optimal audio and visual satisfaction for people unable to physically attend the meeting/activity.
