AV Upgrade at The Two Bells, Barry

Two-Bells-Barry-External

We were delighted to be appointed to deliver a full audio-visual renovation for The Two Bells in Barry.

A favourite among locals, this bustling pub has built its reputation on warm hospitality, live sport, and community atmosphere. To keep pace with customer expectations and create an even better environment for big occasions, the venue required a complete upgrade of its AV systems.

Front

At the front of the venue, the challenge was to make an immediate impact as customers walked through the doors. A 55-inch Samsung 4K hospitality TV was installed, chosen for its ability to provide crisp, high-definition visuals and withstand the demands of a busy pub environment whilst the Two Bells’ customers take in the live sporting action. The unit comes with a three-year commercial warranty, offering peace of mind as well as performance.

Mounted securely on a professional wall bracket, the TV was positioned to ensure maximum visibility from all seating and standing areas in the front section. This careful placement eliminates awkward viewing angles and guarantees that everyone, no matter where they are sitting, has a clear line of sight to the action. The screen itself is bright enough to combat natural light from windows and entrance doors, meaning live sport and entertainment remain clear and vibrant even during daytime fixtures.

Bar

The bar is the true heart of The Two Bells, often the busiest area during major sporting events. To serve this space, two Samsung 55” 4K hospitality TVs were introduced, providing blanket coverage across the room. Using Peerless brackets, the screens were mounted with precision to suit the unique layout of the bar. Some were positioned flat against walls, while others required flexible mounting solutions to ensure perfect angles for groups seated at different vantage points.

The result is a dynamic visual setup that keeps everyone engaged with the event, whether it’s a packed house for the Six Nations or a midweek football crowd. Because Samsung displays are used consistently throughout the venue, colour accuracy, brightness, and resolution remain identical across every screen. Customers moving between areas never notice a drop in quality, and the overall effect is one of seamless, professional presentation.

Darts Area

The darts area was a priority for improvement. Here, four Samsung hospitality TVs, one being 75” and the others being 55”, were installed alongside a carefully designed Audac loudspeaker system. The four Audac speakers were selected for their ability to deliver a balance of power and clarity, producing audio that is strong enough to carry commentary and music clearly while still maintaining warmth and detail.

Speaker positioning was key. By using professional U brackets and mounts, the loudspeakers could be angled precisely to cover the entire space evenly, avoiding dead spots or areas where the sound becomes too overpowering. This thoughtful approach means customers in the rear bar now enjoy an equally immersive experience, with visuals and sound that match the energy of the main bar. The upgrade has turned this part of the venue into a lively extension of the pub’s social core, ensuring no area feels secondary.

Distribution and Control

While the visible screens and speakers transform the customer experience, the backbone of the project lies in the distribution and control systems. TVC installed a reliable infrastructure to carry Sky throughout the building, using professional-grade amplifiers and cabling to maintain HD quality at every display point.

This distribution system ensures that all screens can show the same feed simultaneously without loss of quality, creating a unified atmosphere during major sporting events. At the same time, staff retain the flexibility to split content between areas if needed — for example, showing a football match in one section while broadcasting music videos or a different sport elsewhere.

All of the equipment is housed neatly in a central rack, built and commissioned by TVC to keep the system organised and future-proof. With tidy cabling and clear labelling, the installation is not only robust but also easy for staff to manage day-to-day, ensuring the system can be relied upon during the pub’s busiest trading periods.
