Amber Taverns are one of the largest independent pub companies based across the North West, North East, Scotland and Wales with over 160 outlets.
They offer their customers a fantastic selection of drinks and ensure their pubs offer the latest audio-visual technology including an extensive BT and Sky Sports portfolio.
Following on from smaller collaborations in recent times, including the Iron Ram in Derby, representatives from Amber Taverns came to us to completely renovate their brand-new site in Huddersfield, the King Street Social Tap, with the latest AV technology.
At this new site, we set out to deliver an AV solution that was both sophisticated and intuitive. With multiple entertainment zones—including a custom-designed karaoke room, a dedicated sports area, and an outdoor TV seating space—Amber Taverns needed an integrated system capable of managing a wide range of functions while remaining easy for employees to operate.
To meet these requirements, we designed, supplied, and installed a bespoke audio-visual infrastructure that aligned seamlessly with Amber Taverns’ operational needs and brand identity.
Samsung 4K LED Hospitality TVs
Throughout King Street Social Tap, a variety of Samsung 4K Hospitality Smart TVs were installed to provide crisp, reliable visuals for sports, digital signage, and entertainment.
The screens, ranging in size from 55 to 75 inches, were placed in the main bar, darts area, raised seating sections, karaoke room, and even the external courtyard.
Built for hospitality environments, their commercial-grade specifications ensure the displays are suitable for continuous daily use, with the clarity and brightness needed to perform in both low-light and well-lit areas. This is perfect for King Street Social Tap staff, as they will be able to display live sports action, from Sky and TNT Sports, to their customers with crystal clear viewing quality without the fear of their TVs overheating.
Another standout aspect is the smooth motion handling, which ensures fast-paced sports are displayed with clarity. This gives the landlords at King Street Social Tap peace of mind, knowing their customers can enjoy every moment of the action without the distraction of motion blur.
Peerless Flat Wall Brackets
Each TV was wall-mounted using Peerless flat wall brackets, allowing for a sleek, minimal profile that complements the King Street Social Tap’s stylish interior.
These brackets not only provide strong, secure mounting but also contribute to a clean and professional aesthetic across the space.
A key advantage of Peerless brackets is their post-installation adjustability, allowing the TV to be finely positioned both horizontally and vertically for precise levelling and optimal viewing alignment.
For Amber Taverns, this level of attention to detail reinforces the polished and contemporary feel they strive to deliver in every venue.
Singa Karaoke Systems
A standout feature of the venue is its dedicated karaoke room, which reflects Amber Taverns’ desire to create more than just a place for drinks. Entertainment is central to the King Street Social Tap experience, and the karaoke setup, powered by the Singa Karaoke System, provides a dynamic and engaging attraction for groups and private parties.
The room features a 55-inch Samsung display, professionally tuned Audac loudspeakers, and a quad UHF wireless microphone system. An iPad Pro, wall-mounted in a secure enclosure, provides guests with intuitive access to Singa’s vast library of karaoke tracks via their app.
All of this is brought together with custom HDMI audio integration, wall-mounted lighting controls, and colour-changing RGBW LED lighting that enhances the atmosphere with theatrical flair. The system was fully configured and tested by TVC, with employees trained on how to operate it through a dedicated touch-control interface.
Wyrestorm Signal Distribution
To bring together the many content sources throughout King Street Social Tap, TVC implemented a Wyrestorm Network HD video distribution system, giving Amber Taverns the flexibility to route content from any input to any screen within the venue. This includes feeds from Sky Q boxes, a DJ input, the karaoke system and more.
Using a combination of Wyrestorm encoders, decoders, and a MultiView display processor, content is transmitted with zero lag and uncompromised 4K quality. This allows the King Street Social Tap the ability to provide multiple live sports event at one time to their wide-ranging customer base.
A centrally located iPad, mounted behind the bar and complete with Wyrestorm’s award-winning Touch app, allows employees to control the entire AV network with ease.
